These sessions will consist of 25-30 minutes of guided meditation
followed by 10-15 minutes of silent practice.
Come as you are. Comfortable clothes recommended.

learn more about relevant topics that are presented by an Elevate Therapist, a Brown-Rogers Physical or Occupational Therapist or a Wellness Leader in our community.

Whole Food Plant Based Eating
Wednesday, April 1st
Join Rebecca Hunt APRN, ANP-C, CWS, D- ABLM as she discusses Lifestyle Medicine. This evidence-based method bridges the gap between health promotion and conventional medicine. Rebecca became interested in Lifestyle Medicine after her husband was diagnosed with heart disease. In 2018, she received her board certification in Lifestyle Medicine from the American College of Lifestyle Medicine. Rebecca is one of only two nurse practitioners in the state of Louisiana who have achieved this certification. Healthful eating of whole, plant-based food is one of the areas that Lifestyle Medicine focuses on to improve health. Attendees will learn rationale for choosing whole plant-based foods as well as resources to assist in making nutritional choices.
Ten Pillars of Holistic Wellness

Join Mallory Jackson, OT and Holistic and Wellness Life Coach,
as she discusses the ten areas of wellness, which create the balance and flow of life.
Using this information, as well as information on building helpful habits
and positive mindset shifts, the attendee will learn simple, practical ways
to find clarity on what you truly want in life. The goal is for you to leave feeling
empowered to live your best and most fulfilled life mentally, physically, and emotionally.

Nicole Falgoust, PhD, MSW, LCSW will facilitate this course that combines insights from Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (Williams, Teasdale, Segal and Kabat-Zinn, 2007) and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (Kabat-Zinn, 2013) so that participants can:
Relax and meet the challenges of everyday life
Be fully present and alive in this moment, rather than worrying about the future or ruminating on the past
Respond rather than react to disturbing events
Improve one’s sense of self
Decrease anxiety and depression
Decrease suffering from chronic physical pain

This course is $500, which includes the one-day retreat fee and is limited. A 50% deposit is required to reserve your space. You will receive a course workbook and will have required reading:

Structure of the course:
Eight 2-hour classes that involve teaching, discussion, and meditation practice.
An all-day silent retreat during the program.
Formal Mindfulness Meditation Methods:
Body scan meditation
Sitting meditation—mindfulness of breath, body, feelings, thoughts, and emotions
Informal Mindfulness Mediation Practices:
Awareness of pleasant and unpleasant events
Awareness of breathing
Deliberate awareness of routine activities such as: eating, brushing teeth, showering and interactions with others.
Daily home assignments including 45 minutes of formal meditation and 10 minutes of informal practice.
